Yes
Jimmy Carter, It’s Our Entire Faultby Pete Fisher
8/1/05
Jimmy Carter Just comes out and says Gitmo is a disgrace to
America, and that it is our fault for terrorists planning attacks on
the US. OUR fault? We incited attacks on military ships, and innocent
citizens world wide even prior to this war? And now because we refuse
to chat with these monsters and lie down like a submissive dog all
belly up, we incite even more?
Well, well, well Jimmy, I happen to strongly disagree with you on
all points. I happen to think that pacifist tactics when dealing with
terrorist scum is what encourages attacks on any nation afraid to
stand up to them and their cowardice.
In fact, one example was when our hostages were taken in Iran over
20 years ago and you were the Commander in Chief, at least in title
that is. I remember your indecision and your little chats that did
nothing except keep those poor people hostages for so long.
How do I remember? Because the same month Ronald Reagan took oath I
joined the service. And it was intentional because even as a kid back
then I refused to serve under a president who did nothing at all
except balk and talk when America met with adversity.
And you did nothing for those people while trying to peacefully
reason with terrorists who defy all reason to begin with. While your
brother, another REAL embarrassment to America tried to cash in on
your title by making cheap beer with his picture on it, and while you
fidgeted and twiddled your thumbs, our citizens sat as hostages for
444 days.
That is 79 days over a year, or over 14 and a half months fretting
whether they would live or die, ever see their families again, or have
their feet ever step on American soil again. And you talked. And
talked, and talked, and talked. It did nothing but delay the anguish
of Americans and their families, and the world saw the USA as a namby
pamby indecisive nation due to the actions of it’s president.
And along came Ronnie. The Ayatollah knew just from his presence he
was not going to mess around. There would be no months of talks. No
deals. No compromise. Just action and action that would depend on how
fast we got our people back.
And here is another embarrassment Jimmy. A former president who
accepted a Nobel prize that he did not earn with no other reason than
to try and rub it in the face of a sitting president. You have no
integrity, no shame, and no honor. Yet you call the situation today an
illegal act of war? You know nothing of war, you simply know only
about talk.
You call Gitmo an embarrassment? What about the embarrassment of
those who watched their sons beheaded on video tape? Or the
embarrassment the Kurds felt when Saddam chemically attacked them? Or
what about the embarrassment of America when you sat and did nothing
at all to get our citizens back and failed to negotiate with
terrorists as you Liberals prefer to think you can? What Liberals fail
to mention is the diet those prisoners have, the freedom to exercise a
religion they followed to become terrorists, and the fact that most of
them are living high on the hog compared to what they had prior to
this.
You are not embarrassed by the war, or Gitmo, you are simply
embarrassed that presidents who took office after you got voted out,
who swore an oath to protect this nation after you failed to do so,
actually did it. You are embarrassed by your own incompetence and
indecision, and embarrassed that your little fireside chats with the
Ayatollah never panned out.
You are embarrassed that you took the Nobel Peace prize with no
honor or accomplishment behind it simply to make a personal point with
someone you have a grudge against. Peace? You did not create any
peace. You allowed Iran to bully us. And if that is your idea of peace
you should apologize to each and every former hostage under your
watch, and then to the rest of this nation.
No Jimmy Carter, the embarrassment to this nation is not an
"unjust" or "illegal" war, nor is it the treatment of terrorists at
Gitmo. It is not Gitmo that urges attacks, and please feel free to
take this message to your Hollywood cronies.
What incites terrorism are terrorists. They hate Israel, they hate
the USA because we support Israel, and they hate any civilization they
cannot bring to ruin by their cowardly tactics.
But what terrorists love are Liberals who side with them against
their own nation and call for talks and peace. Because they know it
gives them more time to plan, more time to amass weapons of
destruction, and more time to catch them off guard. After all, the
last time we had a spineless president; it gave the terrorist world
444 days to gain face in their own dark world for having bought the
USA shame by kidnapping our citizens.
Take your little grudge and use that anger to do something
constructive, but leave the protection of this nation to those who
have the will and the backbone to do just that. We have little
patience for criticism from someone who failed to live up to his own
oath of office.
It is not action that incites these monsters, it is the inaction
that emboldens them to continue striking while they hope and pray
another Liberal will get into office and "talk" long enough for them
to become stronger for their next strike.
